Vocably is a mobile app designed for people who want to learn new languages. Its main goal is to keep users motivated and focused while developing their speaking skills.
Challenge
Language learning apps often experience high dropout rates due to low motivation and insufficient depth for achieving fluency.
These apps struggle to maintain user engagement beyond initial use due to a lack of accountability, repetitive gamified content, and inadequate comprehensive learning experiences.
Solution
Our app goal is to solve these issues by focusing on the users' motivation and providing a deeper, more effective language learning experience.
my focus was on solving the design problems that addresses the issues of low motivation and insufficient depth needed for fluency.
My Process
Research to understand the current market of language learning apps, followed by competitor analysis of the top language learning apps, Memrise, Duolingo and Babble. Followed by surveys and interviews to understand the users pain points and needs.
Information Architecutre and Low-Fidelity wireframes
To put all the research and brainstorm visually together, I built and information architecture of what would go into the app that would address the pain points and needs. Then worked on the low-fidelity wireframes that could be tested followed by mid-fidelity wireframes as shown in the above images
Using user psychology to help users learning new language
By implementing not only features that encourages users to resume their lessons on daily basis but also using AI to help them improve their speaking and listening. Users who would like to connect with the native speakers will encourage them to practice the language they're learning.
Thank You!
